Flights to Argentina

There is both good news and bad news when it comes to flights to Argentina. The good news is that it is possible to fly direct from Auckland to Buenos Aires without needing to refuel or change planes. The bad news is that the flight lasts a very long 12 to 14 hours and there is huge lack of competition on the route meaning that prices get very high during the peak summer season.

At the time of writing this article, there are really just two options for getting to Argentina from New Zealand or Australia; direct from Auckland to Buenos Aires with Aerolineas Argentinas, or via Santiago de Chile with Lan Chile airlines (sometimes codeshared with Qantas).
